United Juniors - U9 (Formerly “Local Travel”)
Greencastle United Soccer Club’s - United Juniors provides a local, coed travel soccer opportunity for players to participate in a competitive youth soccer environment that promotes excellence and sportsmanship. The program builds upon the curriculum of the United Rising Stars program and is based on U.S. Soccer's Player Development Model which is designed to develop each player technically, tactically, physically, and mentally. The program’s mission is to produce continued enthusiasm for the sport, nurture life skills and advance player development to ready the player for our United Select program.
Competition: United Juniors compete locally with home matches on GUSC fields and travel to away matches against neighboring Tuscarora Youth Soccer Club (TYSC - Mercersburg, PA). GUSC and TYSC formed the league to bridge the needs of both organizations. In addition to play, the league promotes grass roots officiating to further promote the game and the shortage of local officials.
United Juniors Do Not Require Player Evaluations:
Players participate according to “US Club Soccer Age Band” (See “Player Development” page).
United Juniors Uniforms: Jersey included in the registration fee. Players supply black shorts and black socks.

Location: GUSC Soccer Complex
Training: Minimum 1.5-Hour, Two Nights Per Week (Ex: M&W or T&Th)
Leagues & Travel: Partnership w/Tuscarora Youth Soccer Club - Coed
Competition: 7-8 Games Per Season (4 Home & 4 Away)
Travel within 20-minutes of Greencastle.
Game Format: 7v7 With 25-Minute Halves
Play Format (Field/Goal/Ball): 47 Yards x 30 Yards / Goal: 6.5 Feet x 18.5 Feet / Ball Size 4
